  8. Since June 2008 electronic ticket has become mandatory for all IATA members. So most people use the computer system reservation to book a ticket rather than going to the agent to book. An e-ticket is a ticket that is issued electronically and stored in a computer reservation system.

E-ticket has many advantages for passengers and airlines. Passengers benefit from e-ticket which it is easier, cheaper and more convenient, because passengers don't have to go to the agent. In addition passengers won't waste time in waiting in queues. Airlines also benefit from e-ticket which they will save a lot of money because they don't have to pay for agents and that will lead to increase airlines revenue.

Finally, I believe in the future all passengers will book a ticket online.

  9. An electronic ticket which is known as an (E-Ticket) is a ticket that is issued online and is stored in a computer reservation system. Since 1st of June 2008 electronic tickets have become mandatory for all IATA members.

There are some advantages and drawbacks for both passengers and airlines. For passengers it is easier, cheaper, convenient and no need to waste time queuing. But it won't be convenient and easier for anyone who isn’t computer knowledgeable or a person who doesn’t have an internet connection. The airline will save a lot of money if used E-Ticketing as well as it is more environmental and it will increase their revenue. But then there will be no need for staff members which is a drawback.

Looking forward to the future of E-Ticketing passengers will book tickets on line without any assistance, as it will be a self serving model.
